Nussdorf, Austria – Peter Jungmann
Floor Space: 45 sqm
You can find this cabin in the East Tyrolian village of Nussdorf. Perched on a grassy slope, overlooking the village and the mountains beyond, it’s designed as vacation accommodation for four people. Built entirely from local larch – with the exception of the steel ‘feet’, the cabin is an interesting contrast between sharp angles and gentle curves.
The ground level contains dining and kitchen. A half-level up finds the living area with a large expanse of glass framing the Lienz Dolomites. Another half-level takes you to the bedrooms and bathroom. Aptly named the “Ufogel” from UFO + vogel (German for bird), the cabin is available for vacation rental.
