Columbus, Ohio – Michael Matrka, Inc
It’s interesting that Michael Matrka describes himself as a master renovator and builder rather than the other way around. But when you look at this example of his work, you can understand why. It is always much easier to start with a clean slate and new design than it is to renovate and integrate old with new.
In this example, he had to contend with a mix of materials ranging from brick to field stone and rooflines from mansard to skillion!
Internally, there’s a very interesting mix of vaulted and flat ceilings. In all the primary areas, significant detail has been used in the ceiling to create visual depth and interest. In fact, the attention to detail throughout is, in our opinion, the highlight of this home.
