Mid-North Coast NSW Australia – Earthbound Design + Construct
Year Built: 2013
Joinery: Gavin Scott
Rammed earth, whole tree architecture and multiple textures combine to make this a unique home. Custom furniture adds to both functionality and visual appeal at every turn.
Heavily focussed on ecologically sound design principles, whilst employing the highest quality workmanship and detailing.
Designed as a holiday house for rent, to cater for small functions or groups. Built into a steep site, and split level, the house wanders down the block allowing for many unique spaces.
Exposed rammed earth feature walls tower skywards, creating a strong bond to the surrounding hillsides, with detailed use of timber milled on-site from trees that would normally be discarded. Highly featured and warmly coloured with timber, the house radiates daylight. Active solar technology has been applied to capture the sun’s rays for power and hot water.
