Beautiful libraries and bookstores with comfortable seating will always be a book lover’s haven. But this establishment in Kyoto, Japan raises the bar by being a library, a coffee shop/bar and an overnight accommodation in one!
It doesn’t have the most comfortable beds but it makes the perfect place for bookworms to stay overnight. Just imagine reading yourself to sleep, being surrounded by thousands of books and being with people who share your love of books! What more could you ask for?
Just like any regular hotel or hostel, you have the option of choosing which type of accommodation you want to book. They offer Bookshelf and the River View. As their names suggest, Bookshelf beds are located inside the bookshelves, while the River Views have views of the Kamogawa River. You also get to choose between a standard or a compact sized bed.
Each space is equipped with a simple mattress and a pillow, a curtain for privacy, clothes hanger, a reading light and a power outlet. Yes – there is free WiFi as well.
Now while the beds aren’t available during the day, this hostel provides guests with a shared shower and toilet area, large comfortable sofas, good music for reading, coffee, pastries and beer!
